Every free (non-commercial) version of a Elego ComPact program can be identified by using the -version command line option. In a free version the last two digits of the serial number are in the range 50-99.

SOFTWARE-A may be used and copied without fee for private, non-commercial purposes only. The software may be used and copied by any non-commerical entity, which is defined within the scope of this license as an educational institution (excluding a commercial training organisation), non-commercial research organisation, registered charity, registered not-for-profit organisation, or private persons who don't gain any benefit or earn money by the use or redistribution of this software. Commercial use and redistribution of this software, by itself or as part of another application, is allowed only under express written permission of elego Software Solutions GmbH or one of its licensed distributors and requires the payment of a fee.
SOFTWARE-A may be redistributed to others under the following conditions:
No payment or fee may be demanded except for the storage mediums used.
Every copy must include the orignal copyright notice of elego Software Solutions GmbH and these license statements in readable form.
No file contained on the original storage medium may be modified.

In no event shall elego Software Solutions GmbH or its licensed distributors be liable for any special, indirect or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data or profits, whether in an action of contract, negligence or other tortious action, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of this software.
SOFTWARE-B may be used and copied only with the expressed limitations of a separate software license or a contract. Use and redistribution of this software, by itself or as part of another application, is allowed only under express written permission of elego Software Solutions GmbH or one of its licensed distributors and requires the payment of a fee.

The included software mentioned above is either governed by a BSD style licence which allows free commercial and non-commercial reuse, or by the Digital License Agreement for SRC Modula-3, which also allows free use and redistribution.
